GarCitrin® (Garcinia cambogia extract)
Garcinia combagio extract is a citrus fruit filled to the brim with Hydroxycitric acid (HCA) Garcinia combogia was introduced to the health food industry as a purely natural plant extract in 1991.
Various studies have shown that this helps people lose weight. The fruit is grown in regions of South-India and Africa. The citrus fruit is family of the orange and lemons. It tastes sourly, but the skin is used as a spice in Indian cuisine. The active substance of the GarCitrin®, the hydroxycitric acid, can be found in the skin of the Garcinia cambogia. Hydroxycitric acid is not a stimulating substance (such as caffeine), or an appetite reducer, who both work directly on the nerve system of the brains.
HCA stands for Hydroxycitric Acid. The global pharmaceutical corporation Hoffman-LaRoche researched HCA, in cooperation with researchers of the Brandeis University in Boston, Massachusetts. Researchers discovered, among others, that the HCA form of HCA stops the process of the enzyme citric-lyase, which most occurs in the liver, where conversion into fat is regulated. The result of this is that the liver creates less fat. HCA molecules fool the enzyme citric lyase in such a way that less fat acids are created, so that less fat is available to be stored in the cells of the body.
HCA represses the appetite. When you eat food, the body transforms carbohydrates into glucose, which is a kind of sugar used by the body. The liver controls blood sugar values, so that the brain receives enough energy to perform optimally. The other glucose molecules are broken down by the body into fat or cholesterol. When the glucose reaches a specific level, the brains receive a signal that you have eaten enough. Your brains receive this reaction which represses the feeling of hunger. This reaction is often delayed in people who are obese, which is why they continue eating.
